On the 14th December two calves were taken from a local Eketahuna address. Also on the 14th December, after stealing petrol from Pahiauta, a 29 year old male from Napier was involved in a pursuit and subsequently arrested and charged on a number of driving and other offences. Mid-way through October we were delighted to announce that we hatched our first kiwi chick of the season!!Say hello to MB116. This little one is doing very well, having taken to feeding itself early.Visitors can now see our kiwi chick in our nocturnal kiwi house.

At 1 pm on Wednesday, the 17th of November with the help of our, staff, volunteers, supporters, the Department of Conservation and Rangitaine, 6 of our yellow-crowned kākāriki were released into our ngahere (forest).We have 33 kākāriki still to be released over the next few weeks, so if visitors keep an eye out, they may be lucky enough to see…
