On Sunday 12 September 2021, Chair of Eket\u0101huna Our Town, Rena Tyler, presented a certificate of appreciation to two of Eket\u0101huna\u2019s quiet heroes, Tanmay and Priti Patel, to express the community’s appreciation of their tremendous support, and contribution to the well being of our community, throughout the Covid-19 lock-downs and its ongoing challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During both lock-downs they have, not only, ensured our community was well supplied with grocery, fuel and essential items but also made available freezer space, at no charge, for storage of iwi food parcel frozen goods and supported our local food bank. At a time we stayed safe they were prepared to stay open to keep Eket\u0101huna functioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tanmay and Priti also sponsor our local 2nd Division Wairarapa Women’s Hockey teams Eke G.A.S<\/em> and Eke Tuis<\/em> and provide fresh fruit snacks for the school as well as providing local employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
