Joy lived in Eket\u0101huna for a number of years, meeting her 2nd husband, Maurice Parsons, through the Eket\u0101huna Golf Club.<br>Joy volunteered at the Eke Op Shop, made jewellery, loved going to the Market days in the Wairarapa and selling Avon products.
