April is Takahē Awareness Month. Visitors are invited to come and learn about this endangered bird and the founding role it had in creating Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre. A daily Takahē feeding and ranger talk will happen every day in April from 10.30am. Meet on the Kākā Café deck that overlooks Pūkaha’s breeding pair. The visitor centre will run an all-ages colouring-in competition with prizes and there will be a special activities table set up for young tamariki to learn about these amazing birds.
To download a copy of the colouring competition and activity sheet either go to the Pūkaha website or download it below.
