Ka pai to āwhina Bisset Honda (thanks for your help, Bisset Honda)

Pūkaha received two TRX 520 quad bikes recently donated by Bevan and Ingrid from Bisset Honda in Pahiatua. The quad bikes will be used for our rabbit control programme.

The programme works in the 3220ha buffer zone around the reserve to control a burgeoning rabbit population, coordinating with neighbours and landowners, DOC, Greater Wellington Regional Council and Horizons Regional Council. There are thought to be more than 250,000 rabbits around our Pūkaha ngahere (forest) buffer zone and the local farming area. The quads will help our rabbit control team cope with the steep terrain of the farmland in our buffer zone.
