Eketāhuna Health Centre – Te Whare Ora O Eketāhuna

This month, Sara will start her maternity leave, we wish her and her whanau well. Trish Wilkinson will be covering until Sara returns in Autumn 2025. We are currently considering slightly reduced hours from August onwards and will keep you informed in this regard.

CLINIC OPEN Monday – Thursday 9am – 12pm, 2pm – 4pm; Friday 9am -12pm, 1.45pm – 2.45pm. We are closed Friday 28 June for Matariki holiday. When we are closed, call Healthline 0800 611 116

Last call for Diabetes Trust Winter Warmers cooking demo 11 am-2pm and our Eketāhuna SuperSkills session Monday 1 July 11am at St. Cuthberts Hall. All welcome. These SuperSkills sessions aim to spread knowledge and create new skills in our community. On 1 July, we will be making pate and bread. Do come along and learn, and taste too!
Our Weekly Well-Being activities are: Mondays Chair Yoga 9.45am at St. Cuthberts Hall, Tuesdays Gym class with Jono from 11am, Wednesdays Menz Shed from 9.30am. Also if you have registered and completed a gym form, you are welcome to use the gym during clinic hours.
Our next monthly ladies’ brunch is Monday 15 July 11am. We look forward to hosting some of the awesome team at Tararua Community Services. If you would like to attend and share lunch, please contact Emma, our community coordinator, on 021 250 3015.

The health centre provides space in the back lounge for various agencies:
Tuesday 2 July Wairarapa Law 1pm – 3pm drop-in free advice,

  • Monday 8 July 10am – 3pm Mike Butterick Constituency Clinic, we believe Mike will here in person so do come along for a chat.
    Smoking Cessation- Tuesday 2 July 1pm-3pm, 16 & 30 July 10am-1pm (please book in with EHC).
    Tuesday 9 July there is a mental health support coach available; call the nurses at EHC for a referral. Alternatively, this service is also available Tuesday 23 July. Next Hamua Ora Heartlands Catch Up Thursday
    18 July 10am to 2pm for assistance with WINZ, IRD and ACC queries.
    Emma will be in Eketahuna Community Garden for a mid-week working bee on Thursday 18 July 10am -12pm. Come and join in whether you are a seasoned gardener or not.
  • Our next community crop swap is Sunday 21 July 10.30am. Please ensure you bring something garden related to swap.

Call or text Emma, Community Coordinator, on 021 250 3015 to access our food bank service. Many people are feeling the pinch so please think of others when taking from the pataka kai. We love how so much garden produce is shared here.
