Eketāhuna Community Board July 2025 Meeting

We heard from Emma Elliott, Financial Administrator for the Eketāhuna Health
Centre, that the Centre passed a recent audit with the auditors noting the
exceptional service they provide. They do, however, run at a loss so if anyone has
any fund-raising ideas please contact Emma. Their AGM will be held in September
for everyone interested.
We read a report on water meters – more info on the TDC website.
We learnt that the only TDC rubbish bin service is the bins on the Main Street, that
is why the Cliff Walk one has been removed.
The Eketāhuna Community Plan has been finalized to go through to the next stage.
Applications for the Discretionary Grant Fund are open now, closing on the 22nd
August 2025. The correct form must be filled out on the TDC website or Service
Centre.
We heard from the Alliance about maintenance on the Main Street. It was noted
that the sweeper truck comes every two months with a worker going ahead of it
pulling materials from areas the truck can’t reach. No footpath maintenance due
to heavily reduced budget.
It was noted that Corrections have been cleaning up the overgrown grass on the
Newman Road footpath.
It was reported that the drain outside the Four Square is too small and regularly
blocks.
The new School Bus signs around Nireaha have fallen down or are on a lean.
Pot holes were noted beside the War Memorial Hall, Bridge Street and two more
on the road to Nireaha.
