Eketāhuna Community Radio Society

We have now been able to set aside money to purchase a new transmitter for 88.3MHz and should have this functioning in early 2026. We also need to upgrade one computer and will work towards funding this.
Related to the transmitter purchase we hope to receive funding from the Tararua District Council to give the Radio Station the capability of continuing to broadcast in a Civil Defence emergency. This will involve a generator for the studio/88.3 transmitter and standby batteries for 106.5 transmitter.
Steps are in hand to review the current music playlists and to set up new playlists for daytime broadcasting.
News is now being broadcast several times a day and is a mixture of International, national and local news.
