March celebrates National Nutrition and Physical Activity Awareness: Jono van Klink of Think Hauora can provide exercise programmes for those with long term health conditions; referral by nurses or self-referral via the Think Hauora website. Our wonderful gym facilities are open during clinic hours for gold
coin donation.

Other ways to increase physical activity are also provided by the health centre:

  • Mondays Chair Yoga 9.45am at St. Cuthbert’s Hall (by Koha) and
  • Wednesdays Menz Shed (next to the health centre) from 9.30am.

March is the month of a key fundraiser for the health centre; we are only part funded by Health New
Zealand and rely on the generosity of donations and on grants to provide health care in Eketāhuna. Our
nurses are organising a horse trek on Sunday 15 March and support staff will be providing lunch for the
riders. Pop into the health centre or visit our Facebook page to book you place. We would like this
annual fundraiser to be big and better each year.

This month our healthy and nutritious ladies’ brunch will be on Monday 23 March 11am at St.
Cuthberts Hall.
It has been moved one week for this month only.
Wairarapa Community Law will next be in attendance in April – first Tuesday 1pm – 3pm
The excellent Eketāhuna Crop Swap is Sunday 15 March 10.30am. Please ensure you bring something
